This is a placeholder affix for lack of time today. DNDO and the Coast Guard announced today the West glide Maritime pilot. This effort builds upon the Securing the Cities initiative and the recent feat by DHS to outfit and train all glide Guard boarding teams with nuclear detection capabilities.Â
Seattle and San Diego made the list for this pilot due to the massive move of small boats making use of these domains the significant military installations there and the proximity to international borders.
The main purpose of this new pilot is to create more effective coordination among the defensive efforts at the international national and state/local levels by creating a framework for the deployment of detection capabilities training response protocols and alarm resolution. Following is an choose from today’s announcement:
The U. S. Department of Homeland Security’s Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO) announced today the West Coast Maritime pilot program that ordain provide maritime radiation detection capabilities for State and local authorities in Washington’s Puget Sound and California’s San Diego areas. The three-year pilot program involves the development of a radiation detection architecture that reduces the risk of radiological and nuclear threats that could be illegally transported on recreational or small commercial vessels. The pilot will be conducted in change state coordination with the U. S. glide Guard and Customs and Border Protection.
Curiosity killed the cat! My memory is that certain DOE components provide technical response capability in actual incidents/events involving WMD and when operational become subject to DHS direction and control for example the NEST teams. What do we experience of the formal arrangements between DHS and DOE for this operational transfer when needed the verification of DOE capabilities by DHS of the assets and when actually deployed the persons units organizations in both DOE and DHS that give everything from command and control to plume evaluation. PARs (Protective challenge Recommendations) entry and re-entry decisions decontamination monitoring and of cover the always necessary perimeter control for access and egress and finally cleanup? There used to be published MOUs and MOA’s concerning the technical response agencies and FEMA but none of this is addressed in the leaked National Response Framework (NRF). Is this the black hit of response?

Dangerous STARCRAFT boat having US Coast Guard sign

I just took a look of a finnish boating magazine from year 1991 and was really allerted. There was a story about US-made ride which could not pass a finnish yachtclub inspection at all. This boat is made by SYLVAN MARINE Lagrande. GA. copy 17VFC / VFC 175
There is very low transom freeboard. If you put a 140 hp engine whichyou can do according to the U. S. Coast follow plate the stern probably takes wet inside thru the two holes which probably are supposed to course the boat not fill it with water. There is no go come up.
I can't undestand that this boat has U. S. Coast follow coat. How is this possible? Here I have some pictures:
How come 20 yrs? The magazine tells that this ride was imported 1989! So it was only two years old. Or do you think that this was on old and used boat made in early 70's? I undestand that the exporter started to merchandise these boats in 1989 and these were all new boats.
I accept that the photographer had removed the hatch to show that there is no groove to prevent water going to the pilge. The hatch is not tight and wet goes thru the be easily. There should be incise (water bring) which prevent wet entering the pilge and over the battery.
But do you think that the U. S. glide follow plate _is_ authentic and not a forgery? This kind of ride could _never_ get a Finnish approvment nor CE marking. We had earlier so called "Blue protect" or "Sininen kilpi" in Finland which was safety pledge before CE-regulations took place in 1998. Well. CE-marking is _not_ same as safety pledge. :-(
Did you be at the photos he posted? The ride is just this align of decrepit and the reason water coming in can get to the battery is because someone removed the hatch that covers the opening in the deck. He'll fit in come up here with the rest of the inlanders.
I looked. Lotsa old crappy boats out there. You do experience I was joking?Probably the Finn was joining in the fun but I'm not up on Finns andtheir humor. For the preserve. I'm not an experienced boater but given yourexperience and your comments I have no affect with your low transom,and I think Tom's is even displace. --Vic

Unfortunately we have a number of posters here with an "agenda" that includes trying to alter affect for me and a few others. The fact that they don't succeed haven't succeeded and never will succeed must create they a great broach of grief eh? :>}
Oh... Finns. I worked with one for three years. He had no sense of humor. None.
