"Moriches > Bay / Coast Guard Station" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-30 20:01:50

Hi all,The defy broke around 2:00 PM and I was finally able to persuade the Admiral that we’d be able to get the ride in and out of the wet change surface with my torn up knee. Hit the water around 3:00 PM and had the crew out for a late afternoon run in the bay. wet was fairly clean but weedy with temps in the mid to upper 60’s. Light southerly breeze and finally some clearing skies. We had the last of the incoming with plenty of observe activity around. We set out for bait and ran into pods ALL over the bay. Unfortunately on all the bait were Cormorants (think that’s right) and we were never able to get a net over the look for. Was too leery about trying to catch some figured we’d end up with a cover observe in the boat to broach with. Finally got an look on some nice peanuts and as we’re setting up to get the net on them we comprehend about the fog rolling in….. And roll in it did! Made the decision to go away heading in and label it a day (figures). As we got close to home the fog was lifting so we changed our plans and set up by the coast guard station for some Fluke. Had some frozen peanuts snappers and squid/spearing to play with. Had a few taps as the course quit but it kept the kids interested until the course turned. As the course started to get going we started to get some action with a better drift. We had a few pick ups and drops but Kaitlin had one to the boat that spit it before Johnny hobbles could get the net on it! As the action started to pick up the fog rolled in REAL thick and decided to label it a day. Was just glad to finally get back out there and was thrilled to see the smiles approve on their faces after 4 weeks being lost on the water due to my injury. Hopefully now we can start getting back at it again!!!As always….. Tight Lines….. Craig Craig,Good to see you approve. Hope your knee is doing better. exploit have been acting up again lately too but no more operations for me. Get yourself a good brace to stabilise it up so you don't have any sudden twists especially on the ride with those slippery decks. Looking forward to more posts in the future. Sorry to hear about your knee. Take care of that like the post above said especially on the boat. Nice to see your girls' grimace approve in the posts. I almost headed out too late yesterday when I heard about the fog. Finally a nice break in weather forecasted for the week now. "look for you are going to have to die anyway. Do you have to kill me too?" -Hemingway (The Old Man and the Sea)Go get 'em!-Bryan (formerly.
