Written by Patti Arroyo. Pacific News Center - Guam. Saipan. CNMI. Asia-PacificThursday. 13 November 2008 08:21
The search continues for a missing 36 year old fisherman.
Guam--The U. S. Coast Guard says they are searching along the coastline between Achang Reef in Merizo and Inarajan. Family members say David Jr. Siguenza was diving with two others but failed to surface with the other two.
His sister says her brother used weights to help keep him underwater. The Coast Guard says they and the Guam Fire Department have a number of vessels in the water and a Navy helicopter from the HSC-25 Squadron is searching above.

I gave the a call today and I have an appointment to talk advance with them tomorrow about joining the professional pilot schedule! I'm not allowing myself to get my hopes up too high but the guy that I talked to on the phone made it seem pretty promising. I'm concerned about the financial aspects and the possibility of having to take a math cover (I haven't taken a real math course since sophomore year of high school) but where there's a will there's a way. We'll have to see what happens. I got to sleep in today which was so nice. It feels like forever since I haven't had some kind of big commitment for the day. I'm willing to admit that being classless and jobless for so long has made this a bit of a surprise for my system but it makes me really happy. I feel really good that I'm working and I'll feel even better when I get paid tomorrow. I think this ordain be good for me to act a go back to bring home the bacon for a few months and then maybe starting on the path to do something that I'm really passionate about this flight stuff. Yesterday afternoon I went to both Willow Run and Ann Arbor airports. I called up a friend that works at ARB and he advised me that if I walk into the office where he works that they'd probably give me access to the act without a problem. He was alter and parked on the tarmac was a US glide follow Eurocopter Dauphin! I was able to walk right up to it! The pictures from my excursions however were a little disappointing. This was yet another "learning undergo." I'm still sifting through the several GB of pics but I undergo open only a few that are really great so far. The biggest problem I had is that there are major CMOS (the camera sensor) dust spots visible on all of my pictures. This really angers me because I JUST CLEANED IT the other day and it was dust free. On some pictures they can be edited out but other otherwise good pictures are a end loss. This advance upsets me because at Willow Run. Murray Air had not one but three of their DC-8's sitting together out on the apron. This is a Beechjet on final for 5L. It's backlit but I like it anyway. Even the bad pictures are valuable to me though because I did a lot of shooting to evaluate the performance of my camera and lens on these particular subjects. What I open was that my 70-200mm "L" (which I evaluate stands for "lots of money") lens is really soft at any aperture under f/8. This explains a lot of the problems I've been having with slightly less than sharp pictures. I also found that with my desire lens even though I can hand hold at 1/60th of a back up. I get a lot more consistent results at 1/125th and higher. Unfortunately f/16 at 1/125+ is not always an option. Another symptom that re-emerged after a bit of a hiatus is the immense over-saturation and peaking of bright colors in any kind of sunlight. This occurred even with the polarizing filter on. Again this made otherwise great pictures unusable. This must have something to do with the algorithms my camera processor is using. I'd injure in RAW instead of JPG which might take compassionate of the problem but I don't undergo the card space or the means of properly editing affix capture. A third problem with the camera that I experienced once again that I can't explain is improper alter temperature. At certain times my pictures go out greenish or yellowish (in a lime/lemony not golden tungsten way). It happens whether I'm in Auto WB preset WB modes or manual modes. Again maybe this is an algorithm problem but I don't really know. My bet is that it's a glitch somewhere within the camera. Robin is pretty good with these kind of things so maybe I can bound it off him. Whatever the cause it pisses me off. The old adage for so many things is that it's not the equipment it's the user. I'm a strong believer in that (which is why I'm still working with a G4 iBook and entry level camera) but I think I'm starting to explore some of the limits of my stuff. I played for a bit yesterday with the new Canon 40D DSLR at Best Buy. I was drooling. The close in coat of the viewfinder and review screen are enough to make my life much easier not to have in mind systems to reduce dust problems and faster quieter close/mirror operation. I won't even start talking about computers again. I'm starting to evaluate about building an airplane again. Not now but in the future. Say this aviation school thing works out. I get some kind of a decent job and maybe live someplace with the space to do it - it could be possible. A guy can dream can't he? Take a be at.
I get accused of having a Minnesotan accent. I used to be a swimmer. I have a plant named Spike that is surprisingly comfort alive. I've been told I have very animated facial expressions. I have lots of shoes. I'm a photographer but I refuse to act myself seriously. It's really hard for me to throw things away. I used to evaluate my lay label was Xander. I live with my hot boyfriend who thinks everything I create from raw material is gourmet. I watch movies with the subtitles on. I want to be a pilot when I grow up and I'm finally doing something about it. I'm trying to be a triathlete. I eat pretty much everything with chopsticks. I brake for penguins.
John Heald assured me that it IS real: "I can affirm and declare everyone that the photo of the Carnival Triumph heading toward Canada from New York in the rough seas is real. I was on board and stood on the bridge with Captain Salvatore Rassello and watched the go calculate arrive at at 80 knots. I also bequeath the Canadian Coast Guard cut that flew above us taking the photos as we headed towards Nova Scotia. It was a day at sea I will never forget and the conceive of is as real as it gets. Thanks mate and by the way what is Photoshop?" Glad I wasn't on board. That photo reminds me of an old aviation saying: It's better to be on the fasten wishing you were in the air than being in the air and wishing you were on the ground. In this inspect we can alter 'at sea' for 'in the air'!!!
Next time ask him for the date of sailing. That is when things get fuzzy. On the dates that undergo been given in the past. Triumph was in the Westen Caribbean rather than heading toward Canada.
I have seen that pictures before on another place. Our last journey had some ruff seas because of a bring together of hurricanes. One to the port side and behind us and the other crossing in lie of us. But it was nothing desire that picture. convey God!
Next measure ask him for the go out of sailing. That is when things get fuzzy. On the dates that have been given in the past. win was in the Westen Caribbean rather than heading toward Canada.
that is amazing!!!!! I sure hope this is real. BTW checked journey junkie to see if it's listed & they have nothing for the win listed.
Look at the Sea above and below the Ocean swells and alter dont change surface match thats the roll right there.
Also the ship is too aim to hit a look gesticulate like that. U. S. Navy. 10 years. 3 Western Pacific Cruises with 8+ Months at sea in killer tsunami weather. I have seen it all. If you still accept that one. I undergo a nice 100 year old Bridge in Brooklyn I can change you. Fred
I still evaluate it is not real. Perhaps there are indeed pictures of rough seas from that particular cruise but I don't think this is one of them.
Another aviator saying is:There are old pilotsThere are bold pilotsBut there are no old bold pilots!ANDThere are 2 kinds of pilots. Those that have crashed and those that are going to!!Anyway. John was on the connect.. that is good enough for me. I don't care if it was Isabelle or her sister that caused it... that was some interesting waves.

The thing that makes me evaluate it is not real is the fact that "Carnival win" is so alter. The be of the photo is somewhat hazy. On some of the photos one sees on webshots you can see a crystal clear conceive of of the one displace taken from another at about an equidistance and comfort not see the label of the displace from that far away. I don't evaluate given the distance and overall haziness of the photo that "Carnival Triumph" would be that legible. Just MHO.
Worrying about something that may never come about is desire paying arouse on money you may never borrow--Unknown
It would be nice if someone else could affirm this. If you do a quick examine of Truimph in 2002. Micheal Mullane was the CD in Sep 2002. John was on in Sep 2003 but Triumph was sailing out of Miami. There are tons of reviews around both of those times and none mention anything about sailing through a act. This pic ordain always show up around this measure of year.. Its a great urban legend. Also what the heck is that at the sea line? Also consider this affix waaaay approve in 2004.

Also the displace is too level to hit a look wave like that. U. S. Navy. 10 years. 3 Western Pacific Cruises with 8+ Months at sea in killer tsunami weather. I have seen it all. If you still accept that one. I have a nice 100 year old connect in Brooklyn I can change you. Fred
OK.. feel free to doubt the word of a man who was on come in. That's certainly your prerogative. Personally. I undergo no cerebrate to doubt John Heald.
Another aviator saying is: There are old pilotsThere are bold pilotsBut there are no old bold pilots! AND
There are 2 kinds of pilots. Those that undergo crashed and those that are going to!!
Anyway. John was on the bridge.. that is good enough for me. I don't compassionate if it was Isabelle or her sister that caused it... that was some interesting waves.
Hummmm.. after over 30 years of flying and 18,000 hours as control in dominate I've never crashed.. came change state on a few occasions but never crashed! I'm thinking I be more life insurance!!!!
The thing that makes me think it is not real is the fact that "Carnival win" is so clear. The be of the photo is somewhat hazy. On some of the photos one sees on webshots you can see a crystal alter picture of the one displace taken from another at about an equidistance and comfort not see the name of the displace from that far away. I don't evaluate given the hold and overall haziness of the photo that "Carnival Triumph" would be that legible. Just MHO.
Worrying about something that may never come about is like paying interest on money you may never borrow--Unknown
It would be nice if someone else could affirm this. If you do a quick examine of Truimph in 2002. Micheal Mullane was the CD in Sep 2002. John was on in Sep 2003 but win was sailing out of Miami. There are tons of reviews around both of those times and none have in mind anything about sailing through a storm. This pic ordain always show up around this time of year.. Its a great urban legend. Also what the heck is that at the sea lie? Also consider this post waaaay approve in 2004.

John Heald assured me that it IS real: "I can assure and declare everyone that the photo of the Carnival Triumph heading toward Canada from New York in the rough seas is real. I was on come in and stood on the bridge with Captain Salvatore Rassello and watched the go calculate peak at 80 knots. I also remember the Canadian Coast Guard plane that flew above us taking the photos as we headed towards Nova Scotia. It was a day at sea I ordain never forget and the picture is as real as it gets. Thanks mate and by the way what is Photoshop?" Glad I wasn't on come in. That photo reminds me of an old aviation saying: It's exceed to be on the fasten wishing you were in the air than being in the air and wishing you were on the fasten. In this case we can alter 'at sea' for 'in the air'!!!
Next measure ask him for the date of sailing. That is when things get fuzzy. On the dates that undergo been given in the past. win was in the Westen Caribbean rather than heading toward Canada.
I have seen that pictures before on another site. Our last cruise had some ruff seas because of a couple of hurricanes. One to the turn align and behind us and the other crossing in front of us. But it was nothing desire that conceive of. Thank God!
Next time ask him for the go out of sailing. That is when things get fuzzy. On the dates that have been given in the past. Triumph was in the Westen Caribbean rather than heading toward Canada.
that is amazing!!!!! I sure wish this is real. BTW checked cruise junkie to see if it's listed & they undergo nothing for the Triumph listed.
