Coast Guard Marine Safety Unit Toledo responded to a fuel-oil spill of approximately 2,500 gallons from the 730-foot bulk carrier Algonorth in the Maumee River Friday at approximately 9 p m. The Coast Guard and clean-up contractors deployed approximately 4,000 feet of containment boom around the Algonorth. The Maumee River has been closed to all commercial vessel merchandise.
